I’m certified as a health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the largest nutrition school in the U.S. I have been involved in health, wellness, and fitness in one way or another for the past 15 years. How did I end up starting a career as a health coach? Before my “year of enlightenment”, I was having far more bad days than good. I felt stressed, emotionally drained, unhealthy, sleep deprived, and inefficient. I knew what I should be doing, I just didn’t have the energy to do it. More than any of this, I just felt “blah”, for lack of a better word. I knew that I was thankful for my blessings, but I didn’t always feel thankful.
After coming so far and learning so much, I feel extremely passionate about the daily struggle of everyday women, especially moms. We want nothing more than to be everything to our kids and our husbands, but sometimes along the way we gain resentment and lose ourselves.
Being a busy mom of 3, I relate to struggle of nurturing yourself and taking care of your family. BOTH are important, and BOTH rely heavily upon the other. I believe in natural simplicity, and detoxification of all the “stuff” that is weighing you down. I will help you with nutrition, but it goes beyond that. Making lifestyle changes can make food changes easier to adjust to. Through weekly meetings in person or via telephone, I can guide you toward finding the missing pieces, making healthier choices, and becoming the best “whole” you that you can be!
A little personal tid-bit… I truly believe my past sparks my passion for health coaching because of things that I saw and went through early in life. The blessings I can find in all of this are these: 1.) I can relate to almost anyone, because I have seen almost everything. 2.) I’ve had a front row seat watching lives unravel and spin into chaos as people suffer the consequences of their choices. 3.) But, I can also see that people, no matter what their stories or mistakes, are worth the fight, worth not giving up on, and worth the time. For these reasons, among others, I connect strongly with what I do. We live on this earth one time, so why would we waste it being unhappy, unhealthy, and uninspired, making “instant gratification” choices that make us miserable in the long run?
I hope that if you are a mom with young children, feeling like something is “missing” (and feeling guilty for feeling like something is missing), you will consider giving me the opportunity to work with you. You will find that you’ll answer a lot of your questions yourself throughout the process. I’m just there to help you find your best self. Shoot me an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a free consultation. You can request to work with either me or Stacie (or we can choose for you), and you can also find more about what we offer on our Services page, and even more details about my practice at www.tawnyhurstwellness.com.
